Sometimes kids will get restless in a silent room hearing this “weird
talk” & begin to giggle at the unfamiliar. We all know
giggling’s contagious in a classroom. Sometimes it’s
better to get straight into the CD (gives them music to break the
silence, focuses the thoughts within). Play it by ear. There’s
no “right way” and you’ll learn from your mistakes
& become a little better as a facilitator each time. Don’t
stress yourself! Start with just a few minutes and gradually get
longer.
